Meiklejohn Graphics Licensing was first formed in 1983 as an offshoot to the renowned Meiklejohn advertising and publishing illustration agency. The thinking behind its formation was to create and supply a continuous stream of quality commercial images specifically aimed at manufacturers and retailers for use on their product ranges.

Today, MGL has become one of the world’s leading art licensing companies and has established relationships with a huge number of international companies both large and small. Many of these deal with us on a continuous basis, looking for stunning images for an array of merchandise ranging from Greeting Cards, Calendars and Stationery, to Jigsaws, Apparel, Homewares, Bedding and Sporting Goods.

The work of over 70 contemporary artists and photographers is represented within a growing archive of over 30,000 images covering wildlife, floral, landscapes, fantasy and fashion. In addition to this archive, MGL also offers a range of branded children and teenage character design properties, which can provide an original and cost effective alternative to the usual entertainment brands. These concepts, which feature on licensed products across the globe, are represented in overseas territories by a network of licensing agents. As well as providing full style guides and logos, MGL also offers a customised artwork service to adapt existing imagery or create new art.
